Boris Johnson: Not in their name.

A group of Boris Stoppers will be gathering outside City Hall tomorrow afternoon to commiserate the election of our lord and master, Boris Johnson.

The Tory Troll won't be able to make it this time, but if you fancy joining them for a picnic and a drink then you can meet them on the grassy knoll by City Hall from Midday.

You are advised to bring some drinks along with you, and if you plan on travelling on the underground, please don't forget to crack one open while you still can ;)

Perhaps you could take part in a bit o' civil disobedience. I advocated peaceful protest against BoJo at my new blogging home:

Mr. Stop Boris, or whatever I'm calling myself these days, said...

I'm afraid this event wasn't very successful.

Mrs. Stop Boris and I turned up, considering unmasking ourselves on condition of continued online anonymity (e.g. no photos!), armed with a few commemorative [i.e. left-over] Stop Boris stickers, only to find that the entire grassy area around City Hall was absolutely covered in hundreds of picnickers.

We wandered around subtly eyeing people up and eavesdropping on their conversations. None of them appeared to be particularly opposed to Boris. The only people we found who were talking about the Mayoralty bemusedly stated when questioned that they were nothing to do with any Facebook event.

Still, the two of us had a decent enough picnic on our own. I do wonder how many of the other people who attended were in the same position, though - perhaps several of the other solo and duo picnickers were actually all equally disappointed Boris-stoppers!

Oh dear. Sorry about that. Looking at their page I think the mistake they made was to not to have any banners. Oh well, it was a good day for a picnic anyway.
