I too imagined him as a burly, diehard Old Labourite in his mid-40s; with a paunch from too many pints and pies from down the local Union Club, a raincoat from the last decade mentionable without spitting (the 1970s), an inadvisable hat and perhaps a dodgy amount of stubble.
